1 packet of peppered mackerel fillets (all supermarkets do them).
I bunch spring onions thinly sliced.
2 chillies finely chopped.
1 dried chill roasted and crushed (its optional but makes a difference).
Salt to taste.
You can add more of both chillies if you want or half tsp of chilli powder.
Take the skin of the mackerel fillets and break it down totally with fork in bowl. Now add all the above and give this a good mix. Use your hands and slightly bruise the green onions.
That’s it! It’s so yummy and back in the village they would fry/roast the fish, take the flesh off and make this in fields or at home. It was poor peoples’ food.
