Seared spiced Tuna with chilli flakes, ginger and soy, served on fresh avocado and cucumber salad

Another Fusion dish.
Light, tasty and healthy! There is something about the creamy rich taste of avocado that beckons me in shops, supermarkets and in home pantry!
I make avocado salad a lot, it puts a big smile on my face!
Try this for a light lunch, it’s lush!

Tuna marinade:
2 Tuna steaks cut into 2 inch size chunks.
1 tsp ginger paste
2 tsp chilli flakes
3 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp veg oil

Mix all the above well and marinate as long as possible.

In a non-stick frying pan heat 2 tsps of oil till nearly smoking.
Add tuna chunks and fry on high to sear all sides. Lower heat and cook to your preference. I Iike mine seared just 4mm around sides.
Take of heat and put aside.

Avocado and cucumber salad:

2 ripe avocado flesh scooped out and mashed slightly. I like it chunky.
1 small thinly sliced red onion.
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of half lemon
2 green chillies finely chopped
Handful chopped fresh coriander
Pinch of salt
Pinch of chilli powder.

Mix the above ingredients together with the avocado…
To this, add cucumbers chunks (seeds removed), stir in and drizzle with olive oil.

Serve the avocado in a dish.
Put your tuna on top.
Drizzle again with touch of olive oil and serve.

South Asia meets South America.
And my.. What a collaboration!
