Meat Bhuna with Cabbage

INGREDIENTS:

750 gms mutton cut up small peices.
Half white cabbage cut into just over 2inch squares

Process:

Onions, chopped really fine- 3 medium
Ginger and Garlic paste – 2 tbsp
3 fresh medium tomatoes blended
Green chillies chopped – 2 or 3
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 3 tsp
Cumin powder – 2 tsp
2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Veg oil – half cup
Coriander leaves – chopped 1/2 cup
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 heaped tsp of cracked black pepper
Salt to taste

METHOD:

Heat oil in pan.

Add the onions to the oil and cook this till golden and soft, add garlic and ginger, salt then cook well till oil splits.
Now add splash of water and all the spices except cinnamon to the pan, cook off well adding splashes of water till oil is splitting.

Now add meat and cook this, stirring intermittently. After about 5 mins add tomato puree. Further cook this covered on med heat till you see oil splitting and meat almost cooked. Add splashes of water to keep it loose and allow spices to develop.

Now add cabbage and cook this for about 5 mins covered.
Add chillies, half measuring cup of water, stir well and simmer covered till meat fully cooked.

Add cinnamon powder and fresh coriander and serve.

Make your own cinnamon powder if you can by grinding in coffee grinder as it’s much more potent.
